Jarrold’s Book Choice: The Story of the Norwich Boot and Shoe Trade
The Story of the Norwich Boot and Shoe Trade - Frances and Michael Holmes
RRP £9.95

Frances and Michael Holmes are the authors of the hugely successful books A Market For Our Times: A History Of The Norwich Provisions Market and Norwich Pubs And Breweries: Past And Present. Their latest project is this fascinating and comprehensive history of a trade which at one time employed 15% of the entire Norwich work force, making it the single biggest industry in the city. The book’s 262 pages are packed with first-hand accounts from those who worked in the trade, along with archive material, photographs and newspaper reports, all combining to paint a picture of this trade that was - and to a small extent still is - at the heart of Norwich’s commercial life.
This book and a large selection of titles can be found in our book department on the ground floor.
